Boston Bombings

The thoughts and prayers of everyone who works for Hunter Investigations LLC and SafePassage Adolescent Services go out to the victims, families and loved ones connected with yesterday’s Boston Bombings.

Whoever took such action to disrupt, maim and kill people who were gathered in peace at a world class event have done nothing more than reveal their ignorance for the sanctity of life. To intentionally rob people of their moment of triumph and steal their joy, is simply unconscionable.

I feel compelled to offer a word to the terrorists behind this horrific act: Be advised that regardless of the motivation behind these acts of terror, it is not enough to deter those who love this land from celebrating Patriots Day with the wonderful people of Boston. Democracy in action here in this Republic of the United States of America cannot be dissuaded by something like this. The tradition of running the Boston Marathon will live on.

“Never, never, never, never give up,” said Winston Churchill. I suspect this attitude, along with the fortitude and support of the masses, will propel the participants to return to the starting line in Boston next year…and in the years that follow.

Love is the great conqueror; and forgiveness the ultimate conduit. Jesus Christ said: “Forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Forgiveness is the path to healing and even though it may be a bit longer in coming for some than others, we are good at that here too. Remember, forgiveness does not take the place of justice, and to those who are responsible for these acts of terrorism you will be found and punished.

So to those who will be back to run again: Go for it! And to all the police, fire fighters, first responders, and passersby who saw past the chaos, helped the wounded and led others to safety: Thank you for putting your life on the line for the sake of those you did not even know.

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” Eleanor Roosevelt. What does it hold for you?
